Dalton Trail Lodge is situated right on Dezadeash Lake bordering Kluane National Park. You can fish in the immediate vicinity of the Lodge for salmon, lake trout, Arctic grayling, rainbows, landlocked salmon, Dolly Varden, pike, and whitefish. The Lodge offers this wealth of varied fishing on more than 20 different bodies of water, all accessible on foot, by car, boat, 4-wheeler or plane. A rich variety of fish fall to fly and spinner in the Yukon.

Game birds
|
|
The hunting season for game birds opens on September 1. A parmigan shoot on the marshy land near to the Lodge is an exciting experience, and back at the Lodge, you can dine on a dish of tender game bird done to perfection!

Rod and reel
|
Fly fishing for salmon: 8-10 ft, 8-10 weight, single handed rod, Teeny Line 130-300 gm or a fast sink tip line. Leader: 25-50 lb. Reel with strong drag and 100 yards (90 m) of backing.
Spinning for salmon: 6-10 ft (1.8-3.0 m) rod with casting weight upwards of 1.4 oz. (40 gm). Reel with strong drag (extra spool), 150 yards of 25-50 lb line.
Fly fishing for trout, lake trout and pike: 8-10 ft, 6-8 weight single handed rod, floating and sinking fly-line with 50 yards (45 m) backing. Leader: 4-20 lb.
Spinning for trout, lake trout and pike: 6-8 foot (1.8-2.4 m) rod with a casting weight of 0.18-0.70 oz. (5-20 gm). 100 yards (90 m) of 6-20 lb line on a reel with drag. Leader: 4-20 lb and steel leaders.
