Season preview for Dalton Trail Lodge
|
|
This past winter was relatively mild with below than average snowfall. It looks like the real winter took place in Europe and on the East Coast of the USA. We are expecting a regular summer season with low snowmelt and great conditions for fishing.
Once again we have done some investments, in order to serve our clients even better. We bought a new ATV with four seats. Now we can bring those clients who don’t like to drive their own ATV to Moraine Lake, Sixmile Lake and Tatshenshini/Takhanne River. More investments were done for several replacements and renewals. At this moment we are not certain if we can already build this year the new Cabin at Frederick Lake.
We “discovered” a new lake with good stocks of big Grayling. Thomas and Hardy will build a trail for ATVs to this new lake in May and station a boat there. We are expecting a slightly better run of King Salmon for the Tatshenshini River and for Dry Bay, Clear Creek and Chilkoot River a good run of Red and Silver Salmon. During the first three weeks in September our Lodge is fully booked. For those interested in good Silver Salmon fishing we would like to recommend the last 9 days in September. Last year, at the end of September we fished on Dry Bay for Silver Salmon and it was fantastic!
Regarding our staff there are only slight changes. We are happy to continue working with our long time experienced personnel. There will be a new chef in the kitchen with excellent references and a new fishing guide with many years of experience in Fly Fishing.
We look forward to oncoming, unforgettable fishing and wilderness adventures with our guests!
Best regards
Trix, Hardy, Thomas and Dalton Trail Lodge Team
