Although conditions were quite tough our guests experienced great fishing with a total of seven Trophies being caught. Patrick Stamper caught a Pike of 112 cm, Martin Merz a Pike of 106 cm and Martin Wyrsch a Pike of 105 cm as well as a Pike of 104 cm. Ruud van Deursen also caught a Trophy Pike of 102 cm and two Trophy Grayling of 49 cm. Congratulations to all of you and welcome to the Trophy Club! Ruud has a good chance to become a member to our Grand Slam Champion Club, he “only” needs to catch a Trophy Lake Trout. We would like to wish him good luck! Fishing for larger Lake Trout has picked up and we are confident that we will be able to report some Trophies soon. We landed a very nice fish of 96 cm and lost another big one which unfortunately broke the line. The pools in the rivers are now full of Lake Trout, Grayling, Whitefish and Rainbow Trout and our guests had non stop action. Generally the fishing for Grayling was excellent and besides the two Trophies there were many big ones up to 47 cm caught. At the beginning of the week we did another fly out trip to the coast of Alaska for the Silver Salmon. Our guests landed so many Salmon that they had to stop fishing at noon because their arms were sore. A nice problem to have… It seems that all the rivers at the coast are seeing good runs of Silvers. This is really nice to see as the last two years numbers were down quite a bit. The week started with two nice and calm days but then several weather fronts hit us with strong winds and some rain. But this wasn’t a problem for us as we have so many different rivers and lakes to catch fish.
